Palm Kernel Cake (PKC) is a by-product obtained from the crushing of palm kernel. In Malaysia, most of the PKC produced are through the screw press palm kernel oil extraction method. Although solvent extraction method can also be used, this process is more costly. In general, expeller produced PKC contains more oil (4%-8%) more than solvent extracted PKC. (1% - 2%). Occasionally, PKC exported is extracted for its kernel oil. |
