Palm Oil’s dominance of the oils & fats market in Bangladesh set to continue

During Jan.-Dec. 2018, total import of palm oil and palm oil products was 1,725,755 tonnes, which is about 17.40% higher compared to the quantity imported during Jan. – Dec., 2017. Import of RBD PL was 1,495,752 tonnes, i.e about 87%, which registered an increase of 7.30% compared to Jan.-Dec. 2017 and reached to an ever record quantity surpassing all previous import quantity. Import quantity of RBD PO was 24,300 tonnes during the period registering a decline by 13.21% compared to Jan.-Dec. 2017. The import quantity of CPL during the period was 104,392 tonnes, which registered a robust growth of 4,090.77% compared to Jan.-Dec. 2017. Import quantity of CPO during Jan. – Dec. 2018 was 22,500 tonnes registering 100% growth compared to Jan. Dec. 2017.
